Milwaukee County Selects ZS LLC to Lead the Glazing System Investigation for Milwaukee’s Mitchell Park Conservatory Domes

Milwaukee County selected ZS LLC (ZS) to lead a team of experts to perform a comprehensive investigation of the aluminum glazing system that covers the iconic three Conoidal Domes at Mitchell Park.
The project team for this project, led by ZS, includes Stutzki Engineering, and Super Sky Products Enterprises, LLC. ZS will provide project management, investigation/testing of existing system, and repair solution options. Stutzki Engineering, a world renown glass engineering consulting firm, will provide glazing repair options. Super Sky, the company that originally constructed the dome glazing structure, will provide field assistance for existing conditions examination, and proposed solutions constructability consulting, including cost estimates of proposed solutions.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named the Domes as a National Treasure, an honor bestowed only on buildings which speak directly to the shared story of American society. ZS is thrilled to be contributing to the Dome’s preservation effort and their treasured history.

Dr. Salameh Joins Landmarks Illinois’ Board of Directors

Ziad Salameh, PhD, PE, the founder and principle in charge of ZS LLC, was nominated to join the members of Landmarks Illinois’ Board of Directors. Landmarks Illinois was formed in 1971 due to the demolition of Adler and Sullivan’s Chicago Stock Exchange Building – widely considered an architectural masterpiece. Over the years, Landmarks Illinois has saved 113 architectural and historical treasures throughout the State of Illinois. Landmarks Illinois’ founding mission was to prevent the demolition of significant buildings in downtown Chicago. Its mission today is the same but has expanded to include architecturally and historically significant sites, structures, and districts in cities, towns, and rural areas all over the state of Illinois.
Dr. Salameh is honored by this appointment and is looking forward to actively contributing to the preservation efforts across the State of Illinois.
