Ziad Salameh Appointed Chairman of the Forensic Engineering Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers

On October 1, 2016, Ziad Salameh, PhD, PE, Principal-In-Charge at ZS, started a one year appointment as the Chairman of the Forensic Engineering Division (FED) of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Forensic engineering is the application of engineering principles to the investigation of failures or other performance problems. Forensic engineering also involves testimony on the findings of these investigations before a court of law. The purpose of the FED is to:
- Develop practices and procedures to reduce the number of such failures
- Disseminate information on failures and their causes
- Provide guidelines for conducting failure investigations
- Provide guidelines for ethical conduct in forensic engineering
