ZS was retained by the State of Wisconsin to provide forensic/investigative services for the 1 West Wilson Building, a National Register of Historic services Building located in Madison, Wisconsin.
The scope of services included water penetration testing on representative window units, destructive investigative openings, close-up visual examinations of the building envelope components, and brick/mortar laboratory testing.
The investigation services included:
- Water Infiltration Testing of window units.
- Based upon the investigation, recommended replacement of the existing windows with new energy efficient windows.
- Observed and documented interior and exterior wall openings.
- Based upon the openings, assisted the State in developing a precise scope of work and the ability to prioritize the repairs.
