The Fairfax building was built in 1926 and was originally designed as a hotel. Fairfax is now a residential apartment building owned by The University of Chicago and managed by Facilities Services.

In 2017, ZS was retained to develop OSHA compliant engineered construction documents & specifications to install fall protection anchors and ties for window washing. ZS also completed load testing and certification of the new system anchors per ASME A120.1 – 2014 and compliant with OSHA 1910 Subpart D Walking-working surfaces Rules and Regulations.
