ZS Awarded Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport Project
Milwaukee County Department of Administrative Services awarded ZS a contract to perform structural engineering services to rehabilitate the stair towers of the parking structure at General Mitchell International Airport (GMIA) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The scope includes structural assessment, preparation of repair construction bid documents, and construction oversight for the structural repairs and rehabilitation. The GMIA parking structure was completed in three phases with the original structure being constructed in 1977, followed by a west addition in 1989 and a north addition in 2002. Stair towers’ repair construction is anticipated to start Spring 2022. |
Dr. Salameh Presents for ASCE Wisconsin Section Southeast Branch
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Wisconsin Section Southeast Branch invited Dr. Salameh to present at the April monthly member meeting.
Dr. Salameh delivered the ASCE WISE Branch a presentation on the topic of “Applications of 3D Laser Scanning and UAV/Drone Technology to Prepare Construction Documents.” The presentation highlighted the use of laser scanning, point clouds, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Technology to prepare bid construction documents for buildings’ restoration, remodeling, repurposing, and addition projects.
Dr. Salameh has been an ASCE member for over 25 years and previously served as Chair for the ASCE Forensic Engineering Division.
